Win10 Settings Blocker Allows to Lockdown Specific Settings on Windows 10 and 11

Microsoft has added a new Group Policy feature for Windows 10 that provides us control over the various settings pages in the Windows Settings app. Windows 11 already has this Group Policy feature. It helps us to lockdown specific settings pages on our system.

In certain cases, when we are working as a system administrator or sharing our PC with our friends or families, we may want to keep our privacy. We may block specific settings pages on our Windows 10 or 11 PC.

If we are uncomfortable with Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) or Registry Editor, then we have another option too, which is to lock down individual Settings panes using a freeware tool, “Win10 Settings Blocker.”

Win10 Settings Blocker for Windows 10 and 11

Win10 Settings Blocker is a free and portable application initially developed for Windows 10 by the team Sordum. The team has also added supportive features for Windows 11. It allows us to block, unblock, hide, unhide, enable, disable or control the visibility of the settings pages in Windows 10 and 11.

With this application, we can quickly hide or unhide specific Settings pane. It also supports exporting and importing the settings, apart from adding or removing specific settings pages. We have to decide which settings page should appear and which should disappear; once we decide, we can export these settings and import them to another PC. It does not require configuring the same settings several times for several computers. It can save a lot of time if we have multiple computers and we want to configure them with the same settings.

How to use Win10 Settings Blocker?

Step 1. First and foremost, download the Win10 Settings Blocker on our PC.

Step 2. Extract its contents into a folder.

Step 3. Next, launch the application by double-clicking its executable file.

Step 4. Select an action from the drop-down menu. Here, we will find four options:-

  • Disable Blocking
  • Hide Pages
  • Show Only Pages
  • Block Settings Pages

Let us, for example, hide the About page from the Settings app. So, select the “Hide Pages” option.

Step 5. Once we’re done, a pop-up window will appear to select the settings pages. Select the Settings page in the drop-down menu, want to hide, and click the Add to list button.

We can hide as many as the settings pages we want. When ready with the list, click the Close button beside “Add to List.”

Step 6. Finally, click the Save settings button.

Open the Settings app. Then the settings page that we have hidden using the above steps will not be visible. For example, we have hidden the About page, which is now not appearing on the system.

If we want to unhide the settings page, relaunch the application, and untick the box. Click the Save settings button to make that settings page visible. We can also right-click any added entry and choose to enable, disable or delete the option. Then save settings.

How to Block Control Panel Items?

Win10 Settings Blocker also allows us to block and unblock specified Control Panel applets in Windows 10 and 11. Click the Options button (wrench icon) and choose Control Panel Options to block a Control Panel item.

Then, click the Add to list button and choose any Control Panel Applet to block.

Next, click the Add to List button and the Save settings button.
