A context menu is a pop-up menu that provides shortcuts for actions the software developer assumes the user wants to perform. The context menu invokes a Windows environment with a right mouse click. The classic context menu appears by clicking “Show more options” at the bottom of the modern context menu. It is possible with the Windows registry hack if you don’t want to see the current right-click menu in File Explorer and always need to use the traditional Windows 10 context menu.

User interaction with context menus depends on the computing device, operating system, and input mechanisms. If the user does not have a mouse, they can access context menus by pressing a combination of keys, holding down a trackball, typing on a touch screen, or placing two fingers on a trackpad. Context menus can be closed by selecting an action or clicking outside the space’s menu area.
