How to Reopen Folders during Startup on Windows 11 or 10?

Step 1. Firstly, Open the file explorer

Step 2. After that, click the three dots menu (…) and select Options from the drop-down menu in the File Explorer window.

Step 3. Once you complete the above steps, the Folder Options dialog will open on your computer.

Step 4. Select the View tab.

Step 5. Under the Advanced settings section, check the checkbox Restore previous folder windows at logon.

Step 6. Then, click the  Applybutton.

Step 7. Finally, hit the ok button to exit.

How to Restore Previous Opened Folders at Logon on Windows 10?

Similar to Windows 11, Windows 10 also offers you to restore previously opened folders at login. Here is how to do it.

Step 1. Firstly, press Windows + E keys together to open the file explorer dialog.

Alternatively, you can also open File Explorer by double-clicking “This PC.”

Step 2. In the File Explorer ribbon, click the  View >Options to open the Folder Options dialog.

Step 3. When you complete the above steps, the Folder Options window will appear on your computer.

Step 4. Click the View tab.

Step 5. Select the checkbox Restore previous folder windows at logon.

Step 6. Then, click the Apply button.

Step 7. Finally, hit the ok

button.

That’s it.

All the folders opened before doing shutdown or restart will be restored automatically when you sign in back to your computer.
