Windows 11 is the new operating system from Microsoft, which have Windows Hello feature that provides a secure and personal way to sign in. Microsoft has several security features, one of which is passwords for user accounts. Since the past few versions of the Windows operating system, the company has added support for the PIN to sign in to the system. Windows Hello supports three sign-in methods: PIN, Facial Recognition, and Fingerprint Recognition.

Microsoft encourages PIN usage because, according to them, the PIN is much safer than a password. It is based on the fact that you can only use the PIN to access the attached device. If your PIN gets stolen, your Microsoft account and all the data will remain secure.

How to Remove a PIN from your Local Account on Windows 11?

Here, the process of removing the PIN is very quick and not very complicated. You can do it by going to the Sign-in options settings. It will even remove the facial recognition or fingerprint if you remove the PIN from your account. If you still need to remove the PIN from your account in Windows 11, do the following steps:-

Step 1. Firstly, open the Settings app and press Windows + I keys on the keyboard.

Step 2. Now, select [/keybt]Accounts[/keybt] on the left side.

Step 3. Select Sign-in options tile on the right pane of your screen in the Accounts settings page.

Step 4. After that, click on the PIN (Windows Hello) tile under the ‘Ways to sign in’ section on the ‘Sign-in options’ settings page.

Step 5. Next, click the button Remove beside “Remove this sign-in option.”

Step 6. So, click the Remove button.

Step 7. Then, when prompted by “Windows Security,” enter your account password and then click the OK button.

Once you complete this process, you will remove the Sign-in PIN from your Windows 11 computer.
