How to Enable and Use Spotlight Desktop Theme on Windows 11?

Starting Windows 11 build 25169, Microsoft has implemented a new feature to enable Spotlight on Desktop, which changes the desktop background automatically every day with different images from around the world. Now, Spotlight is included in a theme to activate the online desktop backgrounds for you with one click. Though Microsoft has incorporated this new feature in Windows 11, not every insider has access to it.

Windows Spotlight in Windows 11 has been extended to Desktop. Initially, with the introduction of Windows 10, it was exclusive to the lock screen. When you enable Spotlight as a Windows 11 desktop background, it automatically downloads stunning shots of landscapes, scenery, night views, and gorgeous paintings and arts from the Internet. You will get an endless source of new wallpapers that will never make you bored.

You can enable Spotlight on Windows 11 Desktop by browsing the Settings > Personalization > Background and selecting it from the “Personalize your background” drop-down list.

Now, you have another option to enable the Spotlight for Desktop in Windows 11. Microsoft now decided to add a “Windows Spotlight” theme on the main Personalization page and in the theme list. Clicking it, you will activate Spotlight. Here, you can customize the theme, e.g., set a custom accent color, and save it as a new one. The saved theme will also continue to use Spotlight as the desktop background.

If running the Windows 11 Build 22518 or higher, you can turn on the feature by following a few simple steps.

How to Turn On Spotlight Theme on Windows 11 Personalization?

To enable Spotlight collection for the desktop on Windows 11 build 25169, use these steps:-

Step 1. Download the latest version of ViveTool from GitHub.

Step 2. Move the downloaded file to the “C” drive.

Step 3. Right-click on the ViVeTool ZIP archive to pick the Extract All option in the context menu.

Step 4. Hit the Extract button.

Step 5. Rename the extracted folder to ViVeTool.

Step 6. Open an elevated Command Prompt window, run the following and press the Enter key on the keyboard:-

C:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:39258685

After completing the above steps, the Spotlight theme is on, and see that on Windows 11 Personalization page.

How to Set and Use Spotlight Theme on Windows 11?
