The Windows 11 operating system replaces the widget icon with a weather widget in the left corner. You can hover your mouse pointer over the widget to view the additional weather information and access other widgets. Even if you don’t want to update to the latest version of Windows, you can enable the hidden weather widget with a third-party tool. Windows 11 now supports displaying weather information on the taskbar without third-party tools.

In Windows 11, Microsoft replaced the What’s New and Interests feature with widgets you can open by clicking the widget icon on the taskbar. In a way, Widgets on Windows 11 is the improved version of News and Interest, except that it doesn’t display weather information on the taskbar. Many Windows 10 users didn’t like Messages and Interests and turned them off. But some users like the feature and would like to have the same in Windows 11.

Luckily, there are two applications available through which you can display the weather information on your Windows 11 taskbar: These are the following:-

  1. Weather Bar
  2. WeatherBug

Weather Bar

Weather Bar is a free program designed to display weather information in the system tray area of the taskbar. As you can see in the image below, it’s not as pretty as the News & Interests weather widget in Windows 10, but it gets the job done without a hitch.

Once installed, Weather Bar displays the temperature in the system tray. You can click on it to open the flyout, which shows more information about the weather. The program obtains weather information from OpenWeatherMap.

Now, you can glance at the weather from the taskbar without clicking on its icon.
