How to turn off AutoPlay by using Settings in Window 11?
Following steps are required to be followed to turn off AutoPlay by using Setting in Windows:-
Step 1– Open the Window Settings by using Windows + I.
Step 2– Select the Bluetooth & devices in the left side area when the Settings window is displayed.
Step 3. After that, select or click AutoPlay on the right side.
Step 4. Then, disable or turn off the toggle switch “Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.”
Windows AutoPlay setting page also offers a feature where we can choose different actions for different removable devices. This feature is helpful as here we are not required to disable the AutoPlay option, but we can restrict it and some of its action on different removable devices.
For this, click the drop-down for the removable drive from choosing the AutoPlay default section and selecting the TakeNo action option. After that, AutoPlay will be disabled if we connect a removable device.
How to turn off AutoPlay by using Control Panel in Windows 11?
This windows setting offers features to disable AutoPlay for removable devices. To perform this disable function on DVD, CD, and Blue-ray discs, follow the following steps by using Control Panel in Windows 11:
Step 1. Open the Control Panel in Windows 11 Setting.
Step 2. Click Hardware and Sound.
Step 3. Click the AutoPlay option.
Step 4. Unticked the option Use AutoPlay for all media and devices to turn off or disable the AutoPlay option.
To disable AutoPlay for removable devices, click the drop-down of Removable drive and select Take no action. We can disable the AutoPlay option for all the other media and storage devices like DVDs and CDs.
Step 5. After that, click the Save button.
How to turn off AutoPlay by using Group Policy Editor in Windows 11?
To turn off or disable AutoPlay in Windows 11 by using Group Policy, perform the following steps:-
Step 1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor.
Step 2. On the left side of the Local Group Policy, Editor window navigate to the following path:-
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > AutoPlay Policies
Step 3. Double-click on the policy name Turn off AutoPlay which is on the right side of the AutoPlay Policies folder
Step 4. Tick on the Enabled button.
Step 5. Click on Apply.
