Aside from that, you can use this extension to change the border color, add a shadow with a custom color to the slider handle, add rounded corners to scrollbars, and so on. Furthermore, this extension does not work on the Chrome Settings page, Chrome Web Store, Extensions page, or any other page.

To install the Scrollbar Customizer extension, open the Chrome browser, navigate to chrome.google.com, and click the Add to Chrome button.

Now, click on the Add extension in the pop-up window. It will download and install the Scrollbar Customizer on your PC. After that, click on the extension icon present in the top right corner of the Chrome browser when you have installed this extension on your Chrome browser. Next, click the three-dotted vertical menu beside the “Scrollbar Customizer” and select Options. Unlike Google Chrome, for Firefox, you don’t need to download and install any add-on or extension to change the scrollbar width, as there is a native option to do that. 

Follow the below-described steps to change scrollbars width in Mozilla Firefox on Windows 11 or 10:-

Step 1. First of all, open the Firefox browser and then type the following in the address bar:

about: config

Step 2. After that, press the Enter key from the keyboard.

Step 3. Then, click the Accept the Risk and Continue button to open the Advanced Preferences page when you see the “Proceed with Caution” warning message.

Step 4. Now, type the following in the search box on the Advanced Preferences page:-

Step 5. Next, double-click on the widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.style in the search results or click the pencil icon next to it. Further, type the following number into the box and press the Enter key or click the checkmark:-

• 0: Default width (current Windows OS style scrollbars)

• 2: GTK style scrollbars
• 3: Android style scrollbars
• 4: Windows 10 style scrollbars
• 5: Windows 11 style scrollbars
