How to Change Application Name Folder in Start Menu in Windows 11?

In Windows 11, the Start menu is divided into two sections: “Pinned” and “Recommended.” The “Pinned” section shows the pinned apps.  The “Recommended” section display lists of recently installed apps and used files.

Microsoft offers us the feature to group apps in folders. With the help of this feature, we can add additional apps, and remove, or rearrange apps within the apps folders according to our needs. This helps us to easily categorize our apps based on priority.

By default, Microsoft name the folder in the Start menu “Folder.” It allows us to rename the folder names in the Start menu.  Suppose, we have made five folders for our favorite apps; all folder names will be “Folder” in the Start menu. It means we can not quickly identify the apps by reading the folder’s name only. In order to solve this problem, Microsoft now allows us to rename the folder name in the Start menu.

Currently, this feature is only available on computers enrolled in the Microsoft Insider Preview program. Besides that, Others need to wait a bit for a major update of Windows 11.

To rename the apps folder name in the Start menu in Windows 11, follow the following steps:-

Step 1. Click the Windows icon in the Windows 11 Taskbar to open the Start menu.

If we have already created groups of apps, all folders will be visible on the Start menu with the name “Folder.” Otherwise, make a folder for apps and drag one application to another to create a folder in the Start menu.

Step 2. Then, click on the folder to open it.

Step 3. Then, click on “Edit name.”

If you have already created groups of apps, all folders will be visible on the Start menu with the name “Folder.” And if you have not made a folder for apps yet, drag one application to another to create a folder in the Start menu.

 

Step 4. Then, type a new name of the folder.

Once we are done with the above steps, we will see a new name for our apps folder in Windows 11 Start menu.
