We have already discussed WinRAR software in one of our previous posts. It lists among one of the most popular compression applications available on the Internet. This software is preferred because, along with opening compressed files, you get the privilege to open an ISO file and extract its components. WinRAR supports various formats like ZIP, RAR, and many different extension files.

You should know that ISO disc images are not automatically associated with WinRAR when you get them installed on your computer. When you double-click on the ISO file, it will mount to a virtual drive on your computer. However, to view the file’s contents, you can go to the “Open with WinRAR” option by right-clicking on it.

You can also choose to associate the ISO extension with WinRAR. It will help simplify the process. Once you do that, it will directly open the ISO file in WinRAR once you double-click it. However, if you have a virtual CD-ROM, the ISO file won’t be mounted automatically on your computer.

In this risewindows article, we will help you associate and open ISO files with the help of the WinRAR application.
