How do I Disable Touchscreen on Windows 11?

The touchscreen feature is undoubtedly beneficial, but accidental clicks can be annoying if you don’t use it often. The laptop market isn’t the same as it used to be. With laptops containing touchscreens becoming increasingly common, you may find yourself touching the screen to perform actions rather than using your touchpad. So, if you wish, you can quickly turn off the touch screen capabilities on your Windows 11 computer. This risewindows article will show you how to disable the touchscreen on Windows 11 systems.

Unfortunately, touchscreens on laptops aren’t perfect. They soon start to collect nasty fingerprints, smudges, and other forms of dirt. You may prefer to keep your hands off your screen, and if that’s the case, you’ll be better off disabling your touchscreen entirely.

If you prefer to use a mouse or touchpad, you can disable the touchscreen on a Windows 11 PC using the Device Manager or the command line.

How to Turn Off or On Touchscreen on Windows 11 Machine?

You will not find a dedicated button on your computer to disable or enable the touchscreen facility on a Windows 11 system. You must decide whether you need to use a keyboard/mouse on your PC. The entire decision is yours. When you choose to disable the touchscreen feature on your Windows 11 machine, perform the following:-

Step 1. Firstly, open the Settings app by pressing Windows + I keys.

Step 2. Select the System when the Windows Settings window opens.

Step 3. Then, click on the About on the right sidebar.

Step 4. After that, Scroll down a bit on the About settings page and then click the Device Manager under the Related settings section.

Step 5. Next, in the Device Manager, expand the category to see the names of devices under that and then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to disable and select the Disable device option. You will find the touchscreen device(s) under the Human Interface Devices category. You must repeat the steps if you have multiple HID-compliant touch screen items.

Quick Note: To enable the touchscreen, under the Human Interface Devices category, right-click the HID-compliant touchscreen items that you have disabled before and choose the Enable device option in the right-click menu.

Step 6. After completing the above steps, restart your computer to apply the changes.

That’s it for the article.

I hope this post will be helpful to you.
